I’m Danny, a Business Software Consultant & Developer with 17 years of commercial web and software experience, including 14 years as a hands-on Technical Director.
Many consultants can advise but cannot build. Many developers can build without understanding what your business needs the software to achieve. I bring both together.

Can you improve our existing software and also build something new?
Yes. Sometimes the right answer is to improve what already exists. Sometimes it is better to replace part of the process with a new internal tool, portal or integration. I help work out the sensible route before anything is built.
Do you build the software yourself or work with our existing developer?
I can do both. I can plan, prototype and build business software myself, or work alongside your existing developer or supplier to bring clearer direction, requirements and technical decision-making.
Do you work remotely and on site?
Yes. I am based in Greater Manchester and work with businesses across Greater Manchester and the UK. Most work can happen remotely, with on-site sessions where it helps discovery, planning or stakeholder conversations.
How is the work scoped and priced?
I usually start with the problem, then recommend the smallest sensible paid next step. That might be a discovery session, requirements work, a prototype, a support review or a clear build phase.
What if we know there is a problem but do not know what software we need?
That is a common place to start. You do not need a technical specification. I can speak with the people doing the work, map the current process and identify whether the right next step is improving an existing system, connecting current tools or building something new.
Can you take over an existing or unfinished application?
Yes. I can review the codebase, hosting, integrations, data and current delivery risks before recommending what should be kept, repaired or replaced. The first aim is to understand the system properly and create a practical route forward.
Who owns the software and source code?
For client-funded work, the agreed deliverables belong to your business once the relevant invoices have been paid. Ownership, access, third-party services and any reusable components are made clear in the agreement before work begins.
Can you provide ongoing support after the initial work?
Yes. Support can cover maintenance, improvements, technical direction, developer mentoring or an agreed amount of ongoing delivery time. I can also document the system and hand it over cleanly to your internal team or another supplier.
Can we discuss a confidential project or sign an NDA?
Yes. I regularly work around commercially sensitive systems and information. I am happy to sign a sensible mutual NDA before detailed discussions, and access to code, data and business systems is kept limited to what the work requires.
